HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE

We create our footwear using lasts based on real feet. Because of this it is very easy to find your perfect boot or shoe size.

1st. Step onto a piece of paper and mark behind your heel and in font of your longest toe.

2nd. Do this for both feet and measure the centimeters between these lines. This measurement is your Mondopoint.

3rd. Using the measurement from your longest foot find your correlating size below.

VIBRAM Curuma Nitril Sole
The VIBRAM Curcuma mountain sole is designed to carry you through rugged trails to sensitive tactical environments, it is there for you. - The specially designed rubber compound is antistatic nitrile rubber, heat resistant in compliance with EN Iso 20345 clause 6.4.4. (Tested in accordance with the Iso 20344 clause 8.7 level 300 °C) and POL Petrol Oil Lubricant resistance in compliance with Iso 20345 5.8.7 (tested in accordance with Iso 20344 clause 8.6.1)

With a focus on comfort and breathability the AIR 8000 upper fabric allows for added breathability so you can stay hotspot free all day.

AKU Natural Stride System

Designed in collaboration with International Armed Forces, ideal for military use and security services, the Desertica DS is an extremely stable, lightweight, breathable boot, particularly suitable for hot climates and desert terrain (sand, road, rubble, and rock). Upper with large portions of highly breathable fabric laminated with a special material that prevents the ingress of sand. Nitrile compound tread resistant to oils and hydrocarbons with high grip capacity even on difficult and complex terrain. Designed for combat and training activities, it is perfectly adapted to garrison activities and has an eyelet lacing and lace pocket to comply with air-launching requirements.

The worst part about this boot is I can’t get it in brown again.

These boots are honestly great for every season. They’re highly breathable, and my feet stay dry much longer than with a Goretex boot.

The fit is comfortable and precise. The heel cup is great, and this boot handles going down steep slopes very well.

A Good Summer Boot

The AKU Desertica DS is a well made tactical boot with a couple of flaws. The outsole should be thicker. I have been wearing mine on and off for two months and I now have significant heel wear. The factory insole is also not very good. I tried a few different insoles and settled on a pair of Memory Foam ones. They are adding comfort and cushioning so I can now walk for hours with a 25 lb. backpack with minimal foot fatigue. I hope AKU can fix the outsole and insole problems on a new version of the Desertica DS in the future.
