Quality construction and very comfortable. Great for rough terrain while carrying a heavy load (awesome ankle support). Break in period was very quick. Would recommend for military and police.
I feel duty-bound to provide a review of these boots as, at the time of writing, there is virtually no information out there about what they’re like in hand.
Like other Aku (tactical) boots I own, the construction is top notch. They’re beautiful boots with a high attention to detail, that look better in person. I’m confident no one will be disappointed on that front.
They are, however, substantial boots. While the leather is supple around the ankle, it has a lot of rigidity/support built in. This is great if you’re in the military and need a hardcore boot, but it’s likely overkill for everything else...including policing. And, it’s definitely overkill if you’re hoping to use it like a more winterized Pilgrim, like I was.
Fit is pretty close to my Pilgrims. The Griffons feel a bit looser, but it could just be my imagination. Fit on all of my Aku products is great, as it’s all TTS. I’m an 11.5 in all major sneaker brands, and I’m an 11.5 here.
I hope this helps someone who is thinking about picking up these boots...
