HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE
We create our footwear using lasts based on real feet. Because of this we make it easy to find your perfect fit.
1st. Step onto a piece of paper and mark just behind your heel and in front of your longest toe.
2nd. Do this for both feet and then measure the centimeters between these lines. This measurement is your Mondopoint.
3rd. Using the measurement from your longest foot find your correlating size below.
Very good, high quality and well built boots. Out of the box they are very comfortable and supportive. I was slightly worried about sizing, as according to the size guide I needed to order a full size down from my typical boot size. The 9.5 fit perfectly despite my skepticism. They look narrow but do not feel narrow; ample room in the toe box for (what I feel is) an average foot. Vibram sole is very sturdy and will provide great traction in rough terrain. While they are GoreTex, my feet do not get as sweaty as in my other GTX boots - so they are clearly well ventilated.
My two gripes are small but worth mentioning. Firstly, I wish there was a pocket on the tongue for excess lacing. A lot of other boots come with one and this is great for military. Secondly, I worry about how long the laces will stand up to the metal eyelets - I can already see some abrasion starting after less than a month of wear.
As a first responder I need quality footwear - the AKU pilgrims are so much better than I had hoped.
The craftsmanship of Aku boots I have found to Be top tier. These boots are built for rugged use while also maintaining a good level of comfort. They don't take long to break in and truly fit like glove after some initial use. The sole of the shoe is quality but a but could be an issue in the winter as they are quite hard. Overall, awesome boote and I'd recommend them for use in the field l.
