Rocket DFS GTX

I love these hiking shoes, especially the Gore-Tex and the tread of the soles which makes walking on gravel and rocky terrain easy. I do have a low arch, but the insoles do not have arch support (floppy flexible cushion). Although I like the cushion feel of the insole, I can't put my thin low arch insoles in because it's gets too tight, not enough volume in the shoe to do this. So, this is a fitted shoe, and I'm trying to deal with flat insoles. It is comfortable, for a few hours, then my feet get tired and achy. I am also trying to adjust the shoelaces for the right comfort because the shoes seem to be form fitting. I am continuing to check Ortho Lite to see if they have a different kind of insole that would fit in the shoes. Finally, I normally wear a 7, and these 7s are on the narrow and long side, and 6.5 would probably be too tight. It is longer at the front, leaving more space than my usual size 7 shoes. So far, I haven't tripped, though. If the shoes had more volume to allow for a different insole, I would give it 5 stars.

These are the perfect hiking shoes for me. My forefoot runs a bit narrow, but not narrow enough to ever need a narrow sized shoe. The dual lacing system allowed me to cinch the shoe perfectly so that I didn't slide around in it at all. Between that and the light weight, my foot felt one with the shoe. These took me up a volcano, behind a waterfall, across giant wet rocks on the beach, and across a mountainous sheep trail in the Icelandic summer. That awesome sole never slipped. It went everywhere but up the glacier (where I used a high top rental boot for the ankle support and ability to use crampons - but the rentals were AKU's!) I wear a size 9.5 street shoe, usually a 10 in sneakers, and I got these in a 9.5.
