I’ve hiked over 150 miles in my Trekker Pro GTX and this is a solid boot. Feet have been warm and with many stream crossings, muddy conditions and deep snow my feet have never been wet. They took a little time to break in at the achilles tendon spot, yet have handled steep scrambling with never any heel slip and they stick well in wet conditions. They are comfortable over rough terrain making 15-20 mile days tolerable with no foot pain. Too much boot for Summer and have liked the AKU approach shoe another solid shoe. I’ll try the Rocket DFS for this Summer and looking forward to see how they do on the JMT. Please add shoelaces to the US website AKU....
Wanted something to replace my Hanwags. Rugged but not full on Alpine boot. These guys hit the mark on every level.
I ordered a pair of Trekker Pro based upon very positive experience with Aku's Selvatica. The Trekker Pro does need some break-in time. Now that they're broken in, I like the fit (ordered the same size as the Selvatica), balance of support vs flexibility, and wet weather traction. The heel and ankle fit superbly well, and the toe box is almost too narrow for my foot, so the cut feels just a bit smaller in the toes compared to Selvatica. Thus far, the fit works well and the build quality is outstanding. The Trekker Pros were backordered when I first went to order months ago and I am glad I waited for them!
